VISUAL EMR ePrescribing Certificate Center:
Physicians prescribing controlled medication require Two Factor Authentication. RHS has teamed up with IdenTrust to provide identity proofing and issuance of digital certificate Tokens used to digitally sign and electronically send prescriptions for controlled substances. By providing the required information to IdenTrust you will have the ability to seamlessly complete identity proofing that will be valid for two years.

To obtain a USB Token and a Token Passcode, doctors must register with IdenTrust and prove they are who they say they are (Identity Proofing). After registering, a USB Token and an Activation Code are sent to the doctor by mail.

IdenTrust Global Common Certificates (IGC)

IdenTrust Global Common (IGC) digital certificates are cross-certified with the U.S. Federal Bridge Certification Authority, enabling trust, and interoperability with a wide range of systems and applications. Each individual IGC Certificate includes both a certificate for authentication/digital signing and a certificate for encryption.

During the registration process, you will be presented with hardware storage options for your certificate. All three options are compatible, although the Hybrid PKI/OTP token will give you the most flexibility.

Please note for EPCS signatures, utilization of two-factor authentication (2FA) is required by the DEA.
You will have the option to select either a FIPS 140-2 Security Level 1 USB Token or a Smart Card that meets DEA’s cryptographic requirements, for storage of your Certificate to meet the 2FA requirement. Purchase of hardware includes a one-time license for middleware and drivers necessary for the hardware to function.

Hardware pricing, depending on need:
USB token $48

*Hardware certificates must be retrieved using Internet Explorer. Once retrieved, you may use your hardware certificate with any application that supports standard x.509 certificates.
