What browsers are compatible with my ACES certificate?

Answer:

Your ACES certificate can be used in most major browsers, however, retrieval of the certificate is limited to Internet Explorer and Chrome if you are using a PC, and Safari and Chrome if you are using a Mac. In Windows when the certificate is installed in Internet Explorer or Chrome, you will be able to use it automatically in Internet explorer, Google Chrome, and in Microsoft Edge if you are using Windows 10. Firefox manages certificates independently and will not be able to see or access the certificate, however you can export the certificate from Internet explorer, and then imported the certificate into Firefox.

On your Apple computer the same rule applies. When you download your certificate into Safari or Chrome, you will be able to use it in either browser, but again, Firefox will not see the certificate. You will have to export the certificate from Keychain Access, and import the certificate into Firefox. Once the certificate is downloaded you can also export it, and send it to your mobile Android or IOS devices. If you send the certificate to the device as an attachment via email, in most cases the device will recognize the file and ask you if you want to import the certificate automatically.

See below for a compatibility list of commonly used browsers.
