IdenTrust Global Common (IGC) digital certificates are used in conjunction with certificate-enabled Electronic Healthcare Record (eHR) and Electronic Medical Record (eMR) applications for Electronic Prescription of Controlled Substances (EPCS). These applications must meet strict U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requirements.
IdenTrust can offer assistance to eHR/eMR solution providers to enable applications for EPCS prescribing, as well as to provide DEA-compliant digital certificates to the prescribers who issue electronic prescriptions via the eHR/eMR application.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) defines the rules associated with EPCS. These rules are defined in Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1311.
